Browse Chronology

Browse Chronology displays an interactive timeline of the Gilded Age period. Each bullet displays a short title of a historical event. Click on a bullet point to see an expanded description of each event. The Historical Events column displays the historical events referenced in the database currently. Click on a number in the Items About column to see a list of titles referencing a specific event. Both of the Historical Events and Items About columns will expand as the collection develops. A full chronology is provided by clicking on the View/Print in the top right corner of the timeline.

Navigating

Browse events by dragging the cursor across the highlighted dates at the bottom. Highlight a date at the bottom with a specific event in the month columns above. Also you can click the hyperlinked years at the top to jump to a specific date. If, for example you want to view the expanded description of Cubans Rebel Against Spanish Rule, Sunday February 24,1895: You can use the cursor to drag the highlighted field to 1895 or click the 1895 hyperlink at the top and be taken to the events surrounding that year.
